About Colton Village Hall

Colton Village Hall History – The hall was completed in 1991 after a series of bi-ennial Steam and Village Festivals and other events raised sufficient funds. It was built on land in a field bought from the proceeds of the early Festivals and another large field beyond the Hall was donated by a past resident, Mr. John Price. The Architect was another resident, the late Mr Bill French and it was officially declared open by Miss Dorothy Jones who, at ninety years of age, was the oldest living resident at that time.

The Village Hall is a main focus of activity in Colton. Opened as recently as 1991, it has undergone a major refurbishment and redevelopment in the last two years and Coltonians believe they have one of the best village halls in Staffordshire. Situated conveniently close to the church and the school it has extensive car parking facilities, a large field at the rear for outdoor events and is ideal for weddings, birthday parties, all kinds of family celebrations, barbecues, fetes, etc. The Hall consists of Two adjoining areas (Large Main Hall and Bellamour Room).

The large main hall can seat 120 people, with French windows opening on to the field and a children’s play area; a fitted kitchen with crockery, cutlery and up-to-date equipment; a small bar area; and a meeting room which can be hired separately. The kitchen and bar both have serving hatches opening directly into the main hall, which makes serving at large functions much easier. The entrance foyer provides an ideal space for greeting guests or for collecting tickets for events requiring an admission fee. Cloakroom and toilet facilities, including those for disabled people, are adjacent to this area. The main hall has gas central heating via hot air ducts, which gives you rapid warmth. The meeting room has electric space heaters.

Overall, Colton Village Hall offers good facilities in an attractive rural location. So if you are planning an event, or are looking for an attractive venue for any kind of get together, then why not choose Colton and enjoy the country venue close to town.
